amanda the athlete

I have been going to the gym most days for the past three weeks and find it quite an interesting environment. There are the regulars that are ALWAYS there at certain times of the day, doing the same routine on the same machines. There are a few anorexic girls that come in PAIRS like maybe they do it together its quite sad. Then there are the jocks, im stereotyping because i apply a different set of rules to my own perceptions :) sweaty guys with bodies shaped like sofas its so weird. weird. weirD. You notice people are constantly looking around, glancing sideways at the speed reading on your machine or whatever. Its quite competitive this whole looking good/being fit THING

ANYWAY.....
I thought it would be a great place for a performance work or 'happening' whatever you want to call it. It's a place of such strict rules and routines. It sucks. They listen to the edge and read Women's Day as they furiously pedal on stationary bikes. This has nothing whatsoever to do with my current project apart from the whole healthy eating health buzz I'm on I just thought I would write it down so i can work on it in the future :)
